Lay Liturgical Ministries

Eucharistic Distributors/Extraordinary Ministers of Communion
Eucharistic Ministers assist in the distribution of the Precious Body and Blood of our Lord at each liturgy.  For more information, call the office at 937-256-5633 and leave a message for Sabrina Furlow.

Lectors/Readers
For those who can speak well, and are wiling to invest some time preparing for the the proclamation of the Word at our liturgical celebrations. For more information, call the office at 937-256-5633 and leave a message for Les Weller.

Servers/Acolytes
Servers assist the Priest at the altar during the liturgical celebration.  Both male and female adults and children are welcomed.  For more information, call the Parish office at 937-256-5633 and leave a message for Les Weller.

Ushers/Greeters
Ushers are the official hosts of the weekend liturgies.  By their presence, conversation and actions, they make all who come feel welcomed.  In addition to distributing the bulletins, they collect the offering, assist with seating and maintain a safe environment.  If you would like to assist, please inform the usher at the door of the Church. Offertory Gift Bearers
Simply inform the usher at the door of the Church if you desire to provide this ministry at a particular liturgy.

Sacristans
Provide for the fitting adornment of the Sanctuary. For more information, call the office at 937-256-5633 and leave a message for the Parish Office.

Pastoral Visitation
Once-a-month or weekly visits is a ministry of St. Mary. Volunteers are needed for both friendly visits and communion calls to shut-in and nursing home residents of the Parish. Training is provided. If interested, please call the office at 937-256-5633 and leave a message for the Parish Office.

Prayer Chain
The Prayer Chain offers prayers for specific intentions requested by parishioners.  Prayers, are always welcome to become  member of the chain and a phone call begins a chain of spiritual support to those in need. Becoming Catholic
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which a person discerns if he/she is being called to become a member of the Catholic Church. For more information about becoming Catholic or being a part of the OCIA team, please contact Will Marsh at willmarsh@icparishdayton.org
